Insurance and Payment
Payment is due at the time of service. The practice files your claim with your Bermuda insurer and takes your copayment when the work is done.
How payment works here
Payment for all treatments is due at the time of service. The practice accepts cash, cheque, Visa, Mastercard and online bank transfer, and the front desk will give you the transfer details directly rather than publishing them.
For insured patients, DaVinci Dental files the claim with your local insurance company and accepts your copayment when the service is performed. Insurance correspondence can take up to two weeks.
- Payment due at the time of service
- Cash, cheque, Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer
- Claims filed with your Bermuda insurer
- Copayment taken at the appointment
- Benefits verified beforehand on request
- Written estimates before treatment starts
The three things worth doing before you book
Cover varies more between plans than most people expect, and the practice cannot see your policy. Ten minutes on the phone to your insurer is worth more than any general advice on this page.
Ring your insurer, not us
Ask what your annual maximum is, how much of it is left this year, and what percentage they reimburse for the specific treatment you are considering.
Ask us for a written estimate
The administrative team can liaise with your insurance company to provide a precise estimate of your expected costs based on the proposed treatment plan.
Watch the calendar
Annual maximums do not roll over. If a plan can reasonably be split across two insurance years, that is worth knowing in November rather than in January.
The six questions to ask your insurer
Six questions that settle almost everything.
What is my annual maximum
And how much of it have I used this year. This single number decides most planning.
What percentage do you pay
It usually differs for preventive, basic and major work, and that split is where people get surprised.
Is there a waiting period
New policies often have one for major treatment. Worth knowing before you plan an implant or a crown.
What is excluded
Cosmetic work and implants are the two most commonly limited. Ask specifically rather than generally.
How often will you pay for this
Many plans pay for two examinations or two cleanings a year and no more.
Do you need a pre-authorisation
Some plans do for larger treatment. Getting it first avoids a surprise afterwards.

Which insurers the practice deals with
All of them Bermuda plans. The practice accepts Bermuda insurance coverage only.
| Insurer | Includes | Note |
|---|---|---|
| CG Insurance | CG acquired Colonial, so older paperwork may still say Colonial Life | |
| Argus | HIP | |
| BF&M | GEHI | |
| International insurers | Not filed. Official documentation is provided for reimbursement, and payment in full is due at the time of service |
If your insurer is not listed, ring the practice on 441 292 0107 before you book rather than assuming either way.
What the practice will and will not tell you
The line matters. A practice that tells you what your insurance will pay is guessing, and the guess is not binding on your insurer.
-
01
We will give you a written figure for the treatment
What it costs here, itemised, before anything starts. That part we control.
-
02
We will liaise with your insurer for an estimate
The administrative team can get a precise estimate of your expected costs based on the proposed plan, if you ask for it.
-
03
We will not tell you what your plan covers
Only your insurer can say that, and only they are bound by it. Ask them the six questions above.
-
04
We will stage a plan if that helps
Urgent first, then the rest across insurance years. Say if that would make a difference.
Who you will be speaking to
While my role is technically administrative, my position outside of the waiting room gives me another important role. Some first-time patients arrive fearful and anxious and imagine ordinary procedures to be the worst thing ever. I can reassure them that everything will be ok. I try to encourage them to keep their 6-month recall appointments so that toothache appointments don’t have to happen.

Insurance and payment
Do not see yours here. Call the practice on 441 292 0107 and ask. Nobody minds the question.
Call 441 292 0107Do you take my insurance?
The practice files claims with CG Insurance, Argus including HIP, and BF&M including GEHI. Those are Bermuda plans; international insurance is not filed directly.
If yours is not on that list, ring 441 292 0107 and ask before you book.
When do I pay?
Payment for all treatments is due at the time of service. For insured patients the practice takes your copayment at the appointment and files the claim with your insurer.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, cheque, Visa, Mastercard and online bank transfer. The front desk will give you the transfer details when you need them.
I am visiting Bermuda. Can you treat me?
Yes. International patients pay in full at the time of service, and the practice provides official documentation so you can claim reimbursement from your own insurer at home.
Can I get an estimate before I commit?
Yes, and you should. The administrative team can liaise with your insurance company to provide a precise estimate of your expected costs based on the proposed treatment plan. Ask for it when the plan is written.
