New Patients
The intake here is four steps and the practice has published them for years. Bring your insurance details, allow about forty minutes, and tell the front desk if you are nervous.
Why DaVinci Dental, in their own words
We know that your smile means so much for so many reasons. A healthy smile can impact your confidence, self-esteem and daily life. What’s more, unhealthy teeth and gums can negatively impact your general health.
Our team knows that depending on your past experiences, there can be some anxiety about visiting the dentist. That’s why we have created a welcoming, patient-centred practice that goes beyond dental care and delivers compassion, communication and care at each visit.
That is the practice’s own text, written by Dr. Maybury. It is on this page because it is what she actually says, not because it reads well.
- Complete the health background form

- Children under three examined free
The intake process, step by step
This is the practice’s own four-step process, exactly as they publish it.
Complete the health background form
Medication, conditions, allergies and past treatment. It matters more than people expect: it changes what is safe and what we look for.
Share your insurance information
The name, address and phone number of your insurer, plus your policy and group numbers. Benefits can be verified before your appointment if you ask.
The hygienist sees you first
An x-ray where it is useful, a cleaning, and a dental examination. This is where the gum chart that follows you for years gets started.
The dentist develops a plan for you
What needs doing now, what can wait, and what we are simply going to watch. In writing, in order of urgency, with a figure.
What to bring, and what to say
Five minutes of preparation saves the whole appointment.
Your insurance details
Insurer name, policy number and group number. CG Insurance, Argus including HIP, and BF&M including GEHI are all dealt with here.
A list of your medication
Including supplements and anything over the counter. Blood thinners and bisphosphonates change surgical planning in particular.
Records from a previous dentist
If you have them, or the practice name so we can request them. Recent x-rays save you having new ones taken.
Tell us if you are nervous
Say it at the desk when you book. It changes the appointment length and the order of treatment, and it is an ordinary thing to say.
Bring the children too
Households are scheduled together. Examinations for children under three are free.
Arrive a few minutes early
The health background form takes a few minutes and it is better done sitting down than in a hurry.
What a first visit is not
People put off a first appointment for reasons that are usually about an imagined conversation rather than a real one. These are the ones we hear most.
-
01
You will not be lectured about the gap
Most people who have stayed away for years have already had that conversation with themselves. We are not going to repeat it.
-
02
Nothing gets done in the chair without you agreeing
A first visit is an examination and a plan. Treatment is booked separately, after you have seen the figure.
-
03
You will not be sold work to fill the appointment
If there is nothing to do, that is what you will be told, and it gets written down as a clean examination.
-
04
You can take the plan away
Check it against your insurance cover. Get a second opinion. Ask us to send your records anywhere you like.
What it costs to start
The two figures the practice publishes for a first visit, and what everything else depends on.
| What it covers | Price | |
|---|---|---|
| Dental examination, child under three | A look, a count, and advice for the parent | Free |
| Adult examination and hygiene visit | X-ray where useful, cleaning, examination, plan | Confirmed when you book |
| Refer a friend | Ten per cent off your next cleaning | Save 10% |
| Anything the examination finds | Quoted in writing before treatment starts | Depends on what is there |
Every figure is given in writing once we have looked, because it depends on what is actually there. Call 441 292 0107 and ask for the current examination fee.

Before you come in
Do not see yours here. Call the practice on 441 292 0107 and ask. Nobody minds the question.
Call 441 292 0107How long will my first appointment take?
Allow about forty minutes. That covers the health background form, the hygiene appointment and the examination, and leaves time for the conversation at the end.
Follow-up examinations are shorter once we know you.
Do I need a referral?
No. Call 441 292 0107 or send a request and the front desk will book you in directly.
Can my whole family be seen the same morning?
Yes. Tell the desk who is coming and roughly how old they are and they will schedule the household back to back. See family dentistry.
What if I have not been to a dentist in a long time?
That is common and it is not a problem. Say so when you book so we allow extra time, and we will start with whatever is bothering you most rather than with a full examination.
Will you take my insurance?
The practice deals with CG Insurance, Argus including HIP, and BF&M including GEHI. What your plan reimburses is between you and your insurer, so check before your visit. See insurance and payment.
